Oil bath lubrication is a commonly used simple lubrication method for rolling bearings and sliding bearings. Lubricating oil is stored at the bottom of the bearing housing to maintain a standard oil level, allowing the lower rolling elements or shaft neck of the bearing to be immersed in the oil. When the equipment is running, it rotates with the shaft and bearings, carrying up the oil and evenly coating it on the friction contact surface, forming a stable lubricating oil film, isolating the metal contact surface, and reducing friction and wear.
The lubricating oil after lubrication flows back to the oil pool by gravity, achieving circulation and reuse. Part of the heat generated during operation is conducted through lubricating oil to the casing and dissipated, playing an auxiliary role in heat dissipation.
Oil level control is crucial: if the oil level is too high, it will exacerbate oil mixing losses and cause the oil temperature to rise rapidly; If the oil level is too low, there will be insufficient oil supply, which can easily cause dry friction and damage to the bearings. This structure does not require an external fuel supply device, is simple and reliable, and is commonly used for mechanical equipment operating at medium to low speeds and continuously.
